Colonel Collins, who litis been promoled to a seat on the Council of Defence for New Zealand, was entertained at dinner at the liraiul Hotel on Monday night by the ollicers of the Wellington Riile Battalion, of which he has been commander since its inception nine years ago. (Woncl Collins lias many friends in Taranaki, where he joined the volunteer forces :u 1 SOo.
