Christmas Tree was held in the local hall for the purpose m raising funds to provide additional comforts to the Library jn the form of new floorcloth, curtains, and other furniture. A trap accident occurred yesterday (Tliiirsdny) to Dr. Wake and his wife, of Eltliam, wdio while driving to Ngaire were thrown from their vehicle by°one of the wheels coming off, .Fortunately both escaped with only a shaking. The local sawmill, owned by Mr Oi. ■Syine, is now idle, until further tramway is laid to more hush.
