TEACHER'S SALARIES.

Dunedin, July 12.
The Otago Educational Institute today rejected Mr Davidson's proposal to amend the present system of teachers' salaries, on the ground that it did not get rid of the objectionable principle cf payment according to attendance. The following resolution was carried "That teachers 'be paid a fixed minimum salary based on efficiency, to be determined by ability in literary attainments and length of service,and that the fixed minimum be supplemented by iiicr<£ ments based on the amount of labor and the responsibility of position.''
