TURKEY-IS ASIA ANT) PERSIA TO BE EXPLOITED.

Several leading financial institutions in Germany including the Deutsche Bank •rmany, commanding between them hundreds of millions of capital, have combined to found a new German bank at Bagdad, which is intended to be the 'nucleus of far-reaching enterprises of those regions.
This combination of German banks and the resulting initiation of new enterprises in the Near East are regarded a3 events of the highest importance in German political and financial circles.
Several ambitious schemes of railway construction in Asiatic Turkey and Persia are to lie taken up. and the promoters of the new venture are also said to contemplate a vast system of irrigation in Mesopotamia, whereby the fertility of the land will lie largely increased. The whole project is a striking example of German enterprise and energy. and affords further proof that Turkey-iu-Asia and Persia are marked down as countries suitable for the exploitation of German capitalists.
