MEN REFUSE EMPLOYERS' OFFER. Received Bth, 3-17 pju. , Sydney, July 8. . Tha confereno? of the Steam Collier Omen* and Stevedores' Association and the Coal Lnmpere' Union proved abortive. When it resumed to-day, the secretary of the Lumpen Union announced but the employers' proposal* had bean submitted to a meeting of the union, which unanimously decided not to work with free laborers, and also BOt to accept the wages and conditions for night work. Mr Byrnes, president of the confer-
enee, on behalf of the employers, expressed regret at the men's decision. Uader the circumstances, tbe cmploy-fa had no alternative but to decline to proceed with the conference, and thereupon withdrew the offers previously made by the employers. The confirmee then ended.
