CALLIOPE DOCK ACCIDENT CLAIMS
VERDICT FOll lIAKBOE BOARD. Per Tress Association, Auckland, July 1. In the action Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company against the Auckland Harbor Hoard, claiming £15,000 damages for expenses and loss entailed "by Hie accident to the steamer Mainari in the Calliope Dock, the main issues were —ls improved that the blocks used were in design, construction, and condition .suitable for such dock and for docking the Mamari?
After three hours' retirement Mr Justice Deimiston informed the jury that lie would accept a verdict of nine out of eleven votes. The jury returned about an hour later and answered the main questions in the affirmative. Judgment was entered for defendants. The fixing of the amount of costs was deferred.
