NATIONAL DAIRY SHOW.
"STUDENTS' DAY." Per Press Association. Palmcrston N., June 20. To-Jay may be termed "Students' Day" at the National Dairy Show, the main feature of the day's programme being addresses to school children in tlie Wnnganui Education Hoard district and others by oflicers of the Agricultural Department; and the milk testing competition open to sons and daughters of farmers and pupils of High and Public school*. Professor Kirk lectured upon the culture of the potato, with special refer- | ence to the diseases of the tuber, and illustrated his remarks with specimens of potatoes affected with different diseases and in different stages. Mr. A. V. Sims, Oiovermnent Pomologisf, delivered, an elementary ' address upon fruit growing, pruning, planting, etc., demonstrating by practical work upon trees on a plot of ground. There are 17 competitions in the milk testing competition, Ilabcock method, which will be supervised and judged by officers of the Dairy Department. Professor Lowrie was present at the show with 18 students from Lincoln College, who attended the lectures.
