RAILWAY ACCIDENT.
ENGINE SMASHED AND CAR DERAILED. Received lsth, 0.47 p.m. Sydney, June IS. W hen the North-Western mail train was leaving Werris Creek the engine and second cLisa carriages ran 011 to a siding owing to a shunter's oversight in not locking the points. The remainder of the train, consisting of a first class carnage and sleeping car, cunt inning on the ;ine, were derailed. Fifty passengers were in the derailed cars. One Cochrane has his shoulder dislocated, and a dozen others sustained bruises as a result of the shock. The engine was smashed, j and considerable damage was done to I rolling stock.
