AUCKLAND STOCK REPORT.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report as follows:
Cattle: At the Newmarket yards on Tuesday cattle of alll descriptions were yarded in full numbers. Dairy cows sold at from £3 10s to £7 12s (id; empty do., £1 15s to £2 12s; calves. 15s to £1 7s. The beef pens were well filled, but the quality, with the exception of a few drafts, was not extra prime. Competition was steady and last week's rates ruled, oxen selling to 22s per 10011>j cow 17s to 20s per 1001b. Steers sold at from £6 10s to £lO 17s 6d; cows, £3 10s to £6 15s.
Sheep: The Newmarket yards were well filled with sheep of all descriptions on Tuesday, which sold at advanced rates. Wethers sold at from 18s 9d to £1 0s 9d, ewes los fid to £1 Is Oil, hoggets 12s to Ids. The advertised ewes sold at from 14s to £1 Is Od; wethers, 14s fld to las 9d.
Pigs: Porkers sold at from £1 to £1 17s; baconers, £2 Is to £2 19s'; weaners, 3s 6d to ,10s 6d.
Hides: Market easier. We quote: Extra stout ox, 7'/ 2 d to 8d; stout do.. fi%d to 7d; medium do., 5%d to G>4d; light do., sVid to s'/»d; cow, best lines s'/™d to 5%d, good s'/ 4 d to 5%d; kips, 5%d to 5%d; stags', 3>/ 4 d to 3%d; calfskins. 6d to oy 4 d. Skins: Market firm. Best butchers' skins, large 5s to as Od (good lines average 4s 6d to 4s Od), medium 3s ild to 4s 3d, small 3s to 3s 3d.
Tallow: Market firm. Hest mixed, up to 275; good, 24s to 2os (id; inferior, 20s to 21s Hd: rough fat. l%d per lb.
WILSON AND NOLAN'S REPORT. Messrs. Wilson and Nolan report for week ending June 7: — We had a good entry of poultry last Saturday, and all lines sold at satisfactory priees. A shipment of Island fruit arrived this week, mostly in a green condition, and consequently did not sell readily. We have advirc of a shipment of oranges and bananas (ripe) to arrive next week. Local fruit is still scarce. and all lines offering met with ready sale.
Poultry: We quote—Cockerels Is fi} to 2s, a line of pure-brcds making 2s 3d to 3s: pullets Is 7d to 2s: bens Is 7(1 to Is M; drakes Is (id to Is IM; turkey hens 4s !M: gobblers 5s (id to (is :M. Fruit: Oranges 4s Oil. bananas, green. 7s fid: pines. 10s to lis: pears. r>s: apples, half-eases. 4s to 4s fid: good dessert os.
We offered a big lot of trees, on account of Mr. W. Ihirknett. most of which sold at prices in favor of purchasers. \ section in Courtcnay st. was well competed for. and eventually knocked down at .£3OO to a local purchaser.
