At tho New Plymouth Magistrate's Court yesterday morning the numbers of the local Bur assembled to bid farewell to Mr W. (i Bvldell, S.M., who has been transferred to Wellington, and leaves for that place on Saturday. Mr Kerr, president of the Law Society, acted as spokesman, and offered Mil Worship the cordial congratulations of the local members of the legal profession on his advancement, and expressed the regret they all felt at his departure. Mr Kiddcll suitably responded. A quiet but yery pretty wedding was solemnised on Tuesday afternoon at St Mary's Church, Hawcra, when Mr A. C. Parkinson, second son of Mr "VV. A. Parkinson, of the Hawcra Star, was married to Miss Nan y Cou'ts, eldest daughter of Mr H. ,C. Coutts. The bride wore a lovc.y dress of white chiffon taffeta with chiffon yoke and a pretty accordeon-pleated chiflxn berthc. The bridesmaids, Misses N. and B, Couits, wore white muslin frocks, with pink and green hats and sashes. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Arnaud Barraud. Kcv. 1). 0. Hampton, acting, vicar, was the ollieiating clergyman. CaptairfHon. Nigel Gathorne Hardy, otk Northumberland Fusiliers, and Licutcuaut Edward Lycett Lyon, 18tli Hussars, have been appointed A.D.G.'s to Lord Plunket. Lieutenant Lyon is on his nay out from England by the Omrah. Captain Gathorne-llardy accompanies Lady Plunket lo New Zealand via Canada.

Mr A. E. Plctclnr lcayes this morning lor Wellington en route to Syducj by the Moeraki, which leaves on Saturday. Mr Phteller's journey is made for the purpose of obtaining the treatment of an eye specialist, and wo hope to see him return soon with his eyesight fully restored.
