AUCKLAND ITEMS.
Per Press Association. Auckland, May 31. The output of bullion from the mines of Hauraki Peninsula for the month of May is a record one, totalling £188.50!) 7s, compared with £110,244 13s Id for April. The increase is partly due to the fact, however, that during the last 30 days two returns have come to hand from the Waihi Grand Junction and Komato Reef mines.
The Harbor Board has allocated to the A.M.?. Society debentures to the value of .£IOO,OOO lit 4',4 per cent, interest, payable in Sydney. The directors of the society also purchased £50,000 worth of these 'debentures last year, and advanced the City Council £10(1,000 for their water-works loan, showing the Board's faith in the present and future of our city iis a desirable Held for investment. ' Payments made on the 31st by the New Zealand Dairy Association for milk 'supplied to I heir creameries during April total £10,303 7s lid, as compared with £f>OSS 7s 4d for the same month last year.
