A MURDEER'S PLEA. Received 30th, 11.8 p.m. Sydney, May 30. Richard Riley, who killed Rose Arnold fifteen mouths ago, was sentenced to death at the time of the murder. Riley was placed in an asylum for insane, medical evidence showing that he was suffering from delusional mania. Recently he recovered his sanity and was placed on trial. Prisoner made a statement that the insanity was produced by mental troubles occasioned by the girl. He did not feel as a guilty man, nor did lie bear a gußt yconscience. It had pleased God to deprive him of his reason, and He would not hold him responsible for what he did while in that state.
