BRIBERY AND CORRUPTION
PROSECUTIONS IN UNITED STATES. Received 30th, 9.22 p.m. New York, May 30. The Grand Jury found time bills on eighty-nine charges of bribery. Those indicted include Schmitz, Ruef, Patrick, Calhoun and John Calhoun, president of the United Railways of San Francisco, John Ford William, Abbott, the company's lawyer; Glass, president of the Pacific State Telephones; Halsey, a former agent of the Telephone Company. Bail of ,£2OOO on each indictment was allowed.
