SUPREME COURT.

Per Press Association. Auckland, .May 30. The case against Arthur James Harris. charged with criminally assaulting and abducting a girl under 10 years, was continued at the criminal sittings of the Supreme Court to-day before Mr Justice Dcmiiston. After a retirement of three hours, the jury returned a verdict of guilty on two counts of criminal assault but not abduction. They found that prisoner in the two cases did not have reasonable cause to believe that the girl was 10 years of age, but that he did not induce her to remain with him. The jury also found that the girl had written the letters produced in Court, including one which was alleged by (he girl herself to lie a forgery. His Honor deferred passing sentence.
