THE KELLY GANG.

The Theatre lloyal was overcrowd d downstairs oil Tuesday night, and people had to he turned away. The circle w,s moderately filled. The attraction was "The Story of the Kelly Gang," to.d by (uograpli. The first part of the programme was composed of a collection of miscellaneous lihns. The subjects were well chosen, detail good, and ll'u-. mination everything that could be lesired. Humorous pictures, as u-ual, predominated. One of the best was that which depicted a fire in a village. The man who raised the alarm found a deaf custodian at the fire station, the brigade captain at the nearest pub. The brigade had to be collected from near and far, and the two-man manual sent to the lire. How the hose was. split, *\t;\ how the "village brigade" sought to extinguish that fire was side-splitting, he manual eventually going up in smoke. "The Prospectors," a series showing the hunt for gold, its discovery, treachery, foul play, the woumlcd man brought home by his faithful horse to die, «.nd vengeance two years inter when the prospector's widow shot the murderer dead. These films were intensely exciting. But the Kelly Clang series were even bett;r. Those who had read of the exploits ,v,f the Australian outlaws followed the slorv from Dan Kellv's escape to the capture of JTert Kelly with thrilling tnlere.M. The escipe of Constable SlcI Intyre and the murder of the Inspector and another constable in the bush, the sticliing-up of stations and banks, and all the most sensational portions of their story were vividly thrown on the screen. The fight in the inn, where he i police broke up the gang, black trackers at work, the murder of Sherrit, and finally the capture, of the chief of the outlaws fighting to the last in his suit of mail made up a liiograpli description that has probably not had an equal in this town. Messrs ,T. and N. Tait are certainly deserving of full houses, fo] they always bring with them something

"worth seeing,
