A'ofice is given elsewhere that I'owderliani street, bridge is dangerous to heavy trallic. and vehicle drivers and owners warned in respect to crossing the same. An advertisement appears in our minium to-day, slating that the prospectus of the Banucvirke (las Company, Limited, has been issued, and copies ma'v be obtained at the local branch of the Hank of Xew Zealand. It is proposed to acquire the 'Dannevirkc (las Works, together with all concessions, materials and stock-in-trade. As the members of the syndicate, who are the present owners of the works, are promoting the company, nothing is to be paid for such promotion other than their share of the I purchase money. The works were con- | Mm; ted in IHIIS, on a site comprising nearly I'/' acres of land, close to the business centre. Thev have recently been converted into a coal gas plant, which .Mr. 11. I'.irch. M.1.t1.K., of Wellington in his report, describes as -equal I il not. superior to any gas works of I similar capacity in the colony."
