HOCKEY.

STRATFORD v. SEW PLYMOUTH. This match was played at Stratford in showery weather, The ground was slippery and very rough, making scientific play practically impossible. 'J. tie first spell ended: New Plymouth me, Scored by Fagan, Stratford nil. In the second half New Plymouth passed nearly the whole time, and three more goals were scored by Fagan (2) and M. Avery (1), the final score reading: New Plymouth 4, Stratford nil. Curtis, Turiner, and the brothers Anderson played well for Stratford, and Avery. Fagan and Reid (forwards), and Bealc, Avery and Crawford (backs) were the best of New Plymouth. Mr Broome was referee.
