John Langford Crump, a septuagenarian, of Auckland, New Zealand, enquired at Southsen concerning property wherein he was interested. lie claimed relationship to Mrs Crumpe, a barrister's widow, formerly of Tasmania, md • interviewed her yesterday. During his visit, the report of a firearm was heard, and a servant rushing to the room, saw Mrs Crumpe fall dead, shot through the breast. Crumpe left the house, and surrendered to the police. Received 24th, 1.5 a.m. Hobart, May 24. Mrs Crumpe, mentioned in a cable from London, was the widow of the late Morlarty Crumpe, who some years ago practised in Hobnrt. His name was Moriarty, but on coming into a Home ■ property, he bad to assume the name ot i Crumpe.
