TWO BOATS AGROUND.

Per Press Association. Hokitika, May 23. When being towed to sea this morning the schooner Eunice took the ground on the South Spit, just at the harbor mouth. 'Che schooner Jrine Douglas, in endeavoring to tow the vessel o(T, was driven on the south beach. The Eunice is in a good position for refloating next tide without the necessity of discharging her cargo of timber. The Jane Douglas is fully laden with cargo for a South Westland trip, and will be high and dry at low water, when probably she will discharge. There are hopes of relloating her also on the next tide. The sea is smooth, and neither of the boats so far lias suffered any dam,,gC' ' Later. ' The s.s. Jane Douglas, which grounded on South Spit this" morning, was towed oil* by the tug Westland thin evening without sustaining any damage.
