Kelly, Hills and Cannell, the Board decided that, as Mr. [veil/ wished to withdraw the Board had noil: ing before it and would not proceed further in examination of persons claiming an interest in the matter. With regard to the application of ¥. C. Allen to transfer sec. 8 and !) block 4, OniOK-i, to S. Canne l !, in which the name of J. W. Thomas was substituted, the matter was deferred till next meeting.

SUB-LEASE. F. Calgher applied to sublet sec. 72, block 14, Pouatu, to Jl. E. flight.—Approved, with personal residence conditions to be strictly enforced. GRAZING RIGHTS.

15. B. Roberton and Pittams Bros, submitted tenders for the grazing of portion of sees. 107 and 109, block 0, Pouatn.— The former application at 5s per acre for a year to year tenancy was accepted.

FORFEITURES. J. Barron, ranger, reported having resumed possession of sec. 12, block 0, Pouatu.—Mrs. Guilds, the former tenant, asked for reasonable time in which lo transfer, and she was given till next meeting. E. Tolme, ranger, reported on sec. (I, block 9, Totoro.—The section will be reoffered under the Improved Farm regulations.

S. Brown applied for see. 1. block 5, Kapara, to be forfeited.—Agreed to. D. McCurky was reported to have failed to comply with the regulations under which ho had selected sec. 12, block 2, Aria.—The section will be declared forfeited.

Martha Hastie appealed against the forfeiture of sees. 11, 15, 10 and 17, block 1, Taurakawa, and stated her intention uf residing when the access is improved.

On account of sickness and other circumstances, the forfeiture was rescinded, and six months' extension of time granted in which to reside, complete the improvements, or effect a transfer—a final concession.

Messrs Meares and Williams, solicitors for the mortgagee of sec. (it), block 14. Pouatu, and see. 8, block 2, Ma hoc, formerly held by 'l'. K. and L. K. Anderson, appealed against the forfeiture. Mr. Meares waited on the Board.—The forfeiture was rescinded conditionally on payment of rent to date; and" six months' time was granted in which to effect a transfer and comply with conditions of improvement. The ranger's reporl on sec. 7:1. block 10, Pouatu. held by A. Dnmbush, ami abandoned to Hie mortgagees, was laid on the la bin j and the interest of the selector was declared forfeited. ACCRUED THIRDS.

Proposals for expenditure of thirds were submitted: Patea East Road Board. U2(i 18s 7d; Parihaka Road Board, <i-i 17s SJ.—Approved, provided settlers approve of the Patea proposals.

FREEHOLD. E. Xops applied to convert the tenure of sec. 12, block 1, Ngatimaru, to freehold.- -Approved. IMPROVED FARM LEASES. The following improved farm settlers applied for their l:\iscs to issue:—'!'. Simmons, see. II), block 1."». Aria; L. S. Fauehelle, sec. P. block Hi, Aria.— Granted. FOREST RESERVE.

The Commissioner submitted the question of reserving from sale the balance of Hie Rawhitiroa J' block, portion of which had been reserved for scenery preservation.—The laud will be set apart as a forest reserve.

RESIDENTIAL CONDITIONS. E. O'Malley applied for 12 months' extension of time to reside on see. 14, block 10, Oimra.—ln view of the concessions already granted, the Board could not see its way to extend them.

RANGER'S REPORT: •I. Barron, ranger, reported on tlie inspection of 119 holdings, comprising an area of 1-5,849 acres. Improvements required, value, E9112; effected, value, C22,WH. Two selectors have not effected sufficient improvements, iiml are now resident; seven have; not complied with residence conditions, and two have not effected sufficient improvements. E. Tnlme reported on four holdings, comprising an area of I-10'O acres. Improvements required, value CV77; effected, value I'lOli!). All are in default for non-residence

The same ranger reported on the inspection of 92 ' improved farm settlement holdings, the area of which comprised 1(1,-242 acres. The improvement.? effected are valued at CHI.OII'I. Sixteen holders are non-resident in terms of the regulations. The report was adopted. Those in default will be notilicd to explain the reason for iion-fi'.llilment of conditions. TOWNSHIP RESERVES.

A schedule of reserves in the townships uf Aria. Mangaroa. and villages of Matiri ami Tatu, proposed to lie offered for lease, was submitled.—The leases will lie pnl up fur public eimipetilion for a term of five years at an upset rent of os per 11:11111111 each.
