NEW PLYMOUTH INVESTMENT AND LOAN SOCIETY.
The thirty-first annual meeting of , | ihareholdors in the New Plymouth In- v j vestment and Loan Society (permanent) J was held' on Monday afternoon. Mr sM B. Connett presided . -J The annual report congratulated' members on successful character of the past year's work. The usual appro- | prmtion had been made to investor*, and the whole of the doubtful aeourities had been settled. The directors ' with regret reported the death of the •"" I',te secretary, Mr Clarence RennelL which occurred during the year. He was one of tho promoters of the Society and bad* been secretary from its inception. The balance sheet showed a gross profit for the year of £923 15s 9d. Messrs J. B. Connett and O. T. Mills were re-elected to the directorate, and Messrs J. S. McKcllar and C. F. FooU auditors. Th directors submitted revised ruleß, drawn so as to further popularise th» Society. These were adopted.
