The matter of cancelling this week's fixtures is being considered by the Rugby 1 num. Owing to Friday being observed as a whole holiday at New Plymouth ami one or two other places, members "I the various town teams are unable to get awny from work for the matches on 1 hnrsdny afternoon. It is understood tint Mthinn is not observing the Empire holiday, so presumably the Eltham tv-.ims would be unable to play on Fri-;--'.v. Unless it can lie arranged to play i'ie matches on Friday, the most cquit"We plan appears to be to put all matHies back one week. An effort should, however, be made to keep the fixtures 'I it is reasonably possible.
