THE PRICE OF FLOUR.
ANOTHEB RISE. Dunedin, Mi>y 10. Ihe Otage Daily Times states that the directors of the New Zealand Flourmillers' Association at the ordinary month, ly meeting held at Christchurch, decided to advance tlio price of dour by another 10s per ton, making a total increase of £l. pel- ton within a week, The reason for this rise ij obviously the advance in the price of flour in the Commonwealth, thus making importations from th*t source prohibitive. It has been a mat. ter of common knowlege that the poesi* bility of tlfb importation of Australian flour has been a factor militating against any advance in the New Zealand commodity despite the gradual hardening of the wheat market. Now, however, as wheat is Lardoning all over the world, au advance has been obtained in Australia, and should the excitcmeht continue, the outlook is for higher prices for flour and bread throughout the wintor,
[The rise will bring flour up to £lO 6s Gd, e i.f., at the Breakwater.]
