IMPERIAL PREFERENCE.
BRITISH PREMIER SPEAKS. Received 12th, 5 p.m. London, May 11. Speaking at Manchester, Sir H. Camp-bell-Bannerman declared that if a poll were taken in the colonies to-morrow, he would be certain that only a very small number would favor forcing, even by the gentle art of persuasion, upon the Motherland a change of fundamental policy ill their supposed interest.
