ST. MARY'S PARISH.

ANNUAL MEETING.

The annual meeting of parishoners of St. Mary's Church was held at St. Ms it's Hall last evening. There was a good attendance, and the Vicar presided. 'The Vicar's report was read. Jlr. Evans thanked the iwrishouers for generously coming to tlie assistance of the vestry at the beginning of the financial year, and not only placed the accounts in a more satisfactory position, but helped iji settle the difficulty regarding the appointment of an assistant clergyman to the Omata-Jloturoa district. ' He hoped to send out another clergyman from England within a few months to assist in the work. The Sunday schools were doing good work, whilst the choir was maintaining its reputation. The Vicar expressed his appreciation of the work of the lay renders, and of the help rendered by the vestry. The Rev. F. Latter's report was also read. His labors liad been devoted entirely to administering to the parishoners living in Te Hcnui, Bell Block, Upland Road, and Jlangorei. The Warden's and vestry report was read and adopted. Archdeacon Cole presented a report on back block missions. lie stated that .operations were begun in January, PJOli. They had now an ideal missioner in the poison of Rev. Herbert Reeve, M.A. The mission had become self-supporting, and the hope was expressed that the day Has near when they would be able to have a second missioner. The balance-sheet was read and adopted. The election of office-bearers resulted as follows:—Vicar's warden, Mr. Baker, sent-.: people's warden, Jlr. E. B. Kingdom; auditor, Jlr. P. C. Jlorton; vestrymen, Messrs. S. Smith, H. Fookes, 11. F. Kussell, Bannister, F. Wilson, Lush, T. Woodward, Spencer, and Paton.
