HIGH COMMISSIONHR'S CABLE. Per Press Association. Wellington, May 2. The Department of Industries and Commerce lias received the following cable from the High Commissioner, dated London, Wednesday:—The wool sales have commenced. There is a large attendance of buyers, and active competition. Prices for merinos and line crossbred* of nil grades ave firm. Prices foe medium and coarse erossbreds nre slightly lower. LOCAL MARKETS. There were good entries for poultry last Saturday, prices showing a slight full. Produce rates are unchanged, with the exception of eggs, which show a reduction of threepence per dozen, both to buyers and sellers.
