Auckland, May 2. _ -\1 a deputation to the Hum. Mr. Kowlds, one of the speakers referred to I lie system under which municipal elections nre eonductrtl. In his opinion the system now in use led to confusion mid corruption, lie thought that touting at polls and (lie "ticket" system should lie prohibited, while the names of candidates, when printed on a voting paper, should not lie placed one under the other in alphabetical order, but in a circle, so that there would be no top or bottom name, Willi the pres:ii ! voting paper, thoughtless voters cast ! I::>ir votes in lavor of the tirst :i- i:'■ <.n the paper, whilst, those on the Imt'om were overlooked. The Minister said h • would submit the suggestion to the Colonial Secrctarv.
