ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Per I'jvsh Association. I l'Vilding, April :iO, A. fatnl burning accident occurred to a'man named Paul Khrhorn at Kairanga last night. The whare in which ho lived was destroyed by lire, and at midnight a neighbor was aroused hy a noise, and, opening tin* door, Khrhorn, liadly lamil, 'fell across the threshold. Medical asisistanee was procured, but the man died |at 3 o'clock. Deceased was aged i~), single, and belonged lo Uongotea. Auckland, April 30. Father (iillan. vicar-general of Iho Auckland Koman Catholic diocese, met with a trap accident to-day. lie was | driving round a corner in Upper Queen street, when he was thrown out of the trap and fell on to his head. "When picked up he was unconscious. Jle sustained a very severe wound on the forehead and scalp, with linear fracture of (he skull. In addition his face and lips were badly eul. lie was taken to a private hospital. Dr. J'orter, who attended him, does not think the accident will lead to anything oi* v a serious nature.
Cable advice lias been received of the death of Mr. K. B. Ilei'iol (formerly bead master of I'rmucra Public School) at Holmrt to-day. Deceased retired from tin bead mastership of the liemucra school under the teachers' superannuation scheme about 12 months ago. lie took a leading part in the Education institute and Anglican Church work. (Jreymouth, April 30. John Galbraitli, chief engineer of s.s. Kotuku, died yesterday after a painful illness. ■"*
