THE CENTRAL SCHOOL.
To the Junior. Kir,—From matters that have transpired since the houseuolders' meeting, J am convinced that there was a deliberate attempt to oust »ome of the members of the old committee, and Mr (i. Jl, Maunder in particular, and the comparatively decent attendance was accounted for by that fact and not from any bursting desire to help the school. Sonic of the old committeemen doubtless hat to look back many years to the day when their children attended School here, ami in the new order of things it seems that if some of the ■fresh members; are looking ahead. There's little mult to be found with that, perhaps, but why don't parents of the pupils attend these meetings and take seats on the committee'; In your report of the committee meeting 1 saw that ltev. (Hiorne had been elected the committee's representative on the Technical School Board, in place of Mr C. 11. Maumlcr. As I knew the latter gentleman teas fully in touch with the work of the school I failed to understand the reason of his deposition. (In making enquiries t found that licv. Osborne hud ollered to *tan,l down in favor of Mr Maunder, Iml the chairman ruled that the latter was di-qualilicd by reason of his being retired from the committee. Could you pleast* inform me if this is .so? —I am, ■olc. CKMTKAU
[A representative oF i lit; "Newssought information on this point, but ivc iiiv, of course, unable -to question the tliiUiiuiin's ruling. The circular issued by thf Director of tile Technical Edur.ilion asking the various bodies In appoint representatives on 'i lit: management committee contained the followilly clause:—"ln order that the above proposal may be given effect to, I have (he honor to rcc|iiest your committee to nominate a representative (not necessarily a member of your committee) for a seat on the technical committee." What '-Central'' evidently wishes to know is whether Mr Maundcr's term of ollicc expired when the old committee went out of oflicc. As the circular was clear on ;he poi.-it that the representative need not be a member of the committee, the point i* at least debatable—Eil '-News. - ']
