Nothing definite has yet been decided regarding the selection of a Lilwr.il candidate to contest the seat with .Mr Okcy. the Opposition camllaau', and ojicrs who arc underslood 10 be in the Held whether selected or not. 11 is freely rumored, however, that the choice of the Party will fall on either ilr Doekrill or Mr S. Smith, .sou of the late Member. Should either of these two gentlemen he selected, there is every likelihood, according to current teport, that no, more than three candidates will g.i to the poll. If is expected that the writ will be issued on .Monday, in which event the election will take place on Monday fortnight.
