Some time during the eariv morning of Friday last (the ,Stratford Post ieports), a quantity of railway tickets of the face value of something in the neighbourhood of six pounds was stolen from the Stra'tford Railway Station. From information in the hands of the police, it is believed that some one acquainted with the placo took the tickets, and also that 'the tickets were stamped "April 10th." One of the tickets taken was for Patea, and others for Wellington anil other places. The police have the matter in hand, and it is probable that some arrtSis will be made very shortly. The April issue of the Dairyman, dealing editorially with the Butter v. Cheese controversy, says: "In the Stratford discussion, as in that which took place previously at Eltham, there was an element of "bogey man" introduced thai was successfully used to frighten the share, holders. The "bogey" 5 was that a factory was necessary for every place where at present is a creamery. Making provision for a fully-equipped cheese factory at seven or eight different points, all within a few miles of a centre, is quite as unnecessary iu the case of cheese factories as it is in the case of butler factories. In fact, to build so many separate complete factories in the cases of factories situated as are those of Stratford and Eltham, would be a distinct economic blunder. In cases of this sort ail that is wanted is a "making room" and a double set of hoops. The cheese could all be sent to one centre to be cured as easily as the cream is carried from the skimming stations to the central factory to be churned."
