COAL CARRIERS' STRIKE.

Received 2otli. 1.1J4 a.m. Sydney, April 24. The situation in connection with the strike is practically unchanged as far as Sydney is concerned, Picketing is being systematically carried out. There are large numbers of police in the vicinity of the employers' bureau aud ships coaling with free labor, but everything is orderly. The strikers express themselves very confident. There lias been an important development at Newcastle. Delegates from the Sydney union addressed a meeting of ' local trimmers, with the. result that it was decided not, to trim any vessels at Newcastle which usually coal at Sydney. Another effect of the strike has been the stoppage of work at several Southern collieries.
