ADDINGTON RAILWAY FATALITY.
Per Press Association. Christchurch, April 17. An inquest was opened this afternoon touching the death of the man who was found lying by the railway track near the Aldington station after the second express for the. South had passed. Evidence was given that the man, whose identity remains unknown, was standing on the platform of one of the carriages of the express, when he swung round nml fell off. The ashbox struck his head and killed him. The gunnl, however, Wiis not informed of the occurrence until live miles below TJunsandel, and the coroner said it was n most extraordinary thing that those who saw the accident said nothing to the guard. Yesterday the body was identified as that of Kdward McAnulty. of Kyle, near Ashbnrton, but it turns out that McAnulty is alive, and the inquest was adjourned till Monday in order that further enquiries might ha mmle. To-night the man was identified us Neil McXciie, a laborer, of the Ashliiirton, Mount Homers and Melhveu districts.
