«.. , Per Press Association. Welliugtou, April 12. The Now Zealand Times published a statement this maiuiug that a southern tennis association has been iu the habit of accepting secret discount*. The Times quotes the specific ease of a trophy winner receiving nu order entitling him to purchase n trophy of n certain value. He made a purchase, anil afterwards discovered that the tennis association received twenty per cent, discount. It was contended that under this arrangement (he competitor did not receive the fuil face value of the trophy, and he claimed that the discount should go to him. The Times states that under pressure the tennis association handed over to the trophy winner the discount, and. suggests thnt the matter is one for investigation by the New Zealand Tci\nis Association.
