COMPENSATION FOR OUTRAGE
CHINA PAYS UP. Received 7th, 4.45 p.m. London, April 6. At Britain's suggestion, that inasmuc as the local authorities were not blameable, China's compensation to Dr Home and F. Eadie, who were attacked by Chinese pirates at Tungan last year, has been accepted. Dr Horne received one thousand sterling, and Eafiie one hundred.
