OUR JAPANESE VISITORS.
Per Press Association. Wellington, April 5. Vi.'c-Admirul Tomioka gave an "at home' 1 this afternoon on hoard the warslii]) llushidatc, about fifty guests being invite.l. The number would have been greater had the Japanese Admiral hud more accommodation. The affair passed off very successfully, 'this evening a Ministerial reception to ollieers of -the visiting squadron was given at Parliament Buildings, which were densely packed. The various parts of the buildings were brilliantly illuminated and decorated. There wits a full representation of the military stall' and oflieers of the local forces, also several members of both Houses of Parliament. The visitors were received by the lion. Dr. Findlay and (he lion. J. McGowan. The hitler, on behalf of the (iovernment, said it was the desire of the people of Wellington (o do honor to Vire-Admiral Tomioka, as representative of a great nation, which had fully shown its valor in the late war. The military genius displayed in that war must, he thought, have met with the approval and commendation of everv nation.
