EDUCATIONAL.

Per Press Association. Aui-klnntl, April 4. At a meeting of the Board of Education to-day the inspector suggested certain amendments to the regulations controlling district scholarships. Up to the present, Hie Board has offered half as many senior as junior scholarships. As it might be inconvenient to fix the number of senior scholarships as suggested by the (irannnar School Board, it was (lecid.'J to delete the provision as to the proportion of the two grades, and thus greater equality will be secured in the number of senior scholarships annually offered, the funds, if necessary, being equally divided. The value of scholarships was formerly -ClO a year, with £25 extra to juniors living away from home, and .00 to seniors similarly circumstanced. It was decided to make an allowance of ClO to all, Hie cost to juniors and seniors being the same.
