To hazard a selection I will name Virtu. C'ollarit, and Royal Blue to supply the winner. The meeting will lie continued on Monday, when the Sydney Cup is set down for decision. * Dividend is top-

Considering the liberal slakes offered by the Feilding Jockey Club, it is surprising that the fields for the Autumn Jleeting, which commences on Monday, are not larger. The reason may be attributed to the fact that so many race meetings will be held throughout the colony on that day. My fancies for the various events are as follows: 12.0—Mangaone Stakes Six furlongs: Full Rate or Delumere. 12.40—Trial Plate. Seven furlongs: Speciosa or Lady Storm. I.2o—Kawa Hurdles. About two miles: Gold Dust or Handsome Rose. .I.o—Hack Hurdles. 1% miles: Southern Cioss or Bonhenr. 2.so—Feilding Cup. l'/i miles: Douche or Bourrasipie. 3.3o—Onepuhi Welter. Taranaki sports will no doubt wend their way to Patea on Easter Monday, where the Patea Racing Club have provided an interesting programme ' for -their annual meeting, and a good day's spoil may be expected. A special train will leave New Plymouth at 11.30 a.m., arriving at Patea in ample time for the first race. The following selection may supply some of the winners: 11.30—Handicap Hurdles. 1% miles: Tonderghie or Showman. 12.10—Flying Handicap. Six furlongs: Silver Lead or Somali. 12.40—Farmers' Plate. King Billy received injuries during his trip to Auckland which may prevent him from starting in Easter Handicap on Monday. Should he start it is considered unlikely that the Merriwee colt will be able to do himself justice" ill that event. This is most unfortunate for Mr. E. .1. Watt, as the horse was considered tu have an excellent chance of winning the big event.
