NOTABLE SPEECHES AT THE CAPE. Received 28th, 11.22 p.m. „J" X Capetown, March 28.** The lion. .1. 11. Ilolfmeyer, presenting Mr. Louis Botha with an address at Capetown on behalf of the Bond, declared that a good subject of the Republic was now n good subject of the Empire, and dearer- to the people of Capetown as Louis Botha than as Transvaal Premier.

Mr. Botha, in reply, reiterated his desire to eo-operale with the Motherland, and he and bis friends were doing their best to amalgamate the races. He urged the people of the Cape to be moderate, and help him to bring the two nations together in accordance with true South Africa ideals.
