STAU FOUTBALL C'Ll'll. The fifteenth annual meeting of (he Star Football Club was held in the Town ~H«H- IuKL-iuidil, ihe president, Mr. E. Dockrill, presiding over an attendance of over 40 members. The annual report congratulated the club on the record of the past season, financially and on the field of play, Although none of the teams won the cup, (he senior team were runners-up for the senior division, anil also won (lie O'Brien shield. Tit" balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £lO Bs, and an excess of assets over liabilities of £3O Ss. The annual sports resulted in a financial loss, and it had been decided lo drop (be fixture. The loss, hoever, was recompensed by the great success of the annual social, which resulted in over £ls being added to the funds. 'The (banks of (he club were especially due to the ladies' committee, under the guidance of Mrs. Dockrill, and (o Mr. A. L. Humphries for the success of the social. The report concluded by urging members (o get in(o playing form as soon as possible, particularly ill view of the projected visit of an American team to New Zealand and (he visit of a New Zealand leant (o Australia.
The president, in moving the adoplion of the above, olfered his congratulations on the results of the past season. Jt only wanted better practice and training lo obtain even greater success, and he sincerely hoped the teams would take his advice. It rellccted great credit on the management committee in having wiped oil' a loss of Clo on the sports and linished up with a credit balance of CHI. It served also to show that the "Slurs" had the support of the public. Mr. A. L. Humphries seconded, and the adoption was curried uuanimouslv. At this stage the chairman (Mr.'E. Doekrill) withdrew from the, meeting jn account of an important meeting at which his attendance was required) and Mr. A. Humphries took the chair. Mr. Humphries thanked Mr. Doekrill and Mrs. Doekrill for the great interest thev bad aiwavs taken in the a Hairs of (he club, and lie could assure them that it was the wish of the club thai, thev should long remain at the head of illl'airs. The annual meeting of the Opunake Club was held on Saturday. The bal-ance-sheet showed n credit of .I'll) 2s (Id. MY. 1). lloss was elected club caplain, Mr. W. AVestoby secretary, and Mr. .1. O'Doa delegate to the Union. The latter was instructed to vote in favor of Kaponga receiving a district, and oppose doing away with the boundaries.
