Messrs Covett and Quilliam have been re-appointed solicitors to the borough of New Plymouth. Mr Joseph McCluggage's re-appoint-ment as a member of the Taranaki Land Board is notified in the last Gazette. -Mr. J. li. Coiinett, Chairman of the New Plymouth Harbor Board, is in Wei - lington. After supervising the landing "f a shipment of Tarauaki butler, he will visit the Exhibition. Mr. \\. A. Collis. Borough Councillor and Chairman of the Central School Committee, has been appointed by the New Plymouth Borough Council as its representative on the Committee of Management of the Technical School. The late Mr. William Cray, Secretary ol the Post and Telegraph Department, entered the ollice of the "Taranaki News as lar back as 1858 as a reporter, and subsequently was attached to the Nelson "fixaminer.'-' Mr. C. Cray, dentist, of New Plymouth, is a son of deceased, 1 Mr. K. De C. Malct has resigned the position of Chairman of Directors of (he Bank of New Zealand as from the 1 Jlst March inst.. the close of the financial year of the bank, but will continue to act as a director. It is understood that the state of Mr. Maid's health, and the fact thai he intends to leave the colony on a visit to Europe towards the end of the present year, have led him to take this step. Mr. Malct has occupied the ollice of a director for over eight years.
