ANTI-RAILWAYS DELIRIUM. APPEAL FROM EX-PRESIDENT. TO ABANDON SELFISH TARIFF POLICY. Received 25th, 10.2 p.m. New York, March 25. Mr. Grover Cleveland states that the outcry against railroads resembles a delirium. Presently the nation will he ashamed. He admits some form of Government supervision is necessary, but it ought to be planned quietly, not during a period of excitemeut. He appeals to the Democrats to force tariff reform on the broader ground of enlarged national life. Americans ought to abandon the policy of selfish isolation, of excluding other nations from the American market, and cutting off America's foreign markets.
