TARIKI HORTICULTURAL SHOW

The fourth annual show of the 'lariki Horticultural Society took place oil | Thursday last, ami was a pronounced ; success in every respect. The vegetable collection was considered to be the best vet seen in Taranaki. During the afternoon Mr T. Hooker gave an exhibition of how to kill, pluck and dress a fowl for export. The secretary (Mr Stratford) were kept very busy all day and the other oflicers worked hard, and, it was therefore only the natural outcome that the all'air .should prove the success it did. The principal prize-takers were—l ot plants, T. Drake; cut blooms. Mrs J. Wheeler; vegetables, A. E. Buckingham; fruit, W. V. Darkness; preserves, etc., Mrs R. Lenehah; poultry, S. Teed; miscellaneous, MistifJ, Nfci-011; photography,,

.J. Therkleson. In pot plants, 'J'. Drake took 8 iirsts and one second, A. Stratford 4 lirsts, and T. Therkeson li firsts. Mrs K. Bennett also took several prizes. In cut blooms. Mrs J. \\ heeler gained six lirsts and Mrs Bennettlive firsts, while Mis* T'liuible scored three and some seconds, .Mrs Body, Mrs Noble, Mrs Lenehan, Miss \ ickers, Miss L. Davidson, Miss D. Hellier, 11. Dixon and J. TherUleson also gaining prizes. Jn lue vegetable classes I tii«' principal prizetakcr* were -'I. W ebb. I (J. \'. Tale, \\ . end S. Jakc>, A. I"/. J Buckingham, <l. h. J. ilamb* lyn, A. K. Buck, S. I'. Keid and R. dames, while in the i'ruil classes the same parties scored heavily, as did -Mrs .Mrs Lenehan, Mrs Hancock, W. V. Darkness, and llop!-on, in the dairy produce, bread, cakes, etc., classes, Mrs Stratford, Mrs .lakes and Mrs Buckingham were the principal prize-takers, and in the poultry classes, S. Teed annexed eiirlit firsts/ J. Mynolt three, A. Kerr three, and Hopson two firsts and two seconds. In ihej miscellaneous classes the principal pri/c----fakers were—.Mrs Hancock, i\Jr.s J.
