CONTROL OF PATENTS.
PROTECTION OF BRITISH INDUSTRY. Keceived 20th, 10.27 p.m. London, March 20. In the House of Commons, Mr Lloyd George, President of the Board of Trade, introduced a Bill to prevent the obstruction of British industrial development by the abuse of patents. It compels foreigners to work 'their patents here, and. prevents thorn imposing onerous conditions on Britishers using their patents. [Speaking at a Fire Brigade dinner at Wellington last week, the Hon. J. A. Millar said we most insist on having patents manufactured In the colony within a given timcj. Germany and France were doing it, and now he saw the Mother Country was doing the same thing. Unless this was done, the colony must remain the dumping ground for foreign-manufactured patent machinery.]
