(By "Moturoa"). ! With the exception of the two principal events, the racing on the second day of the Wanganui meeting appears to have been of a somewhat uninteresting character. Most of the successful horses won easily. The Wanganui "Chronicle" remarks:—"As toon as the weights appeared it was generally held that the placed horses on the lirst day had been too generously treated, and this contention was borne out by the results, as no less than six out of the eight races on the card were won by horses which bad been successful on the previous day, while .Master Dclaval and Montigo, who were placed in the Cup, were also first.and second in the Wanganui Stakes." Marguerite, who is becoming wellknown for her kicking propensities, displayed her powers in that direction on Multiffd, Paritutu and Apa prior to the start for the Cup. Multifid, however, retaliated and caused the mare to respect the Multiform liorso in that she afterwards kept out of his way. Such an animal as Marguerite ;b a source of annoyance to an owner and danger to his valuable, horse. It. would be well if clubs would empower a starter to order such a horse backto 'the paddock. The mare also treated Star Rose in Ihe same manner before the start for the Kgmout Cup. The ex-hack, Full Eate, has now demonstrated what a good horse he is. In the Farewell Handicap the Officer gelding entered the straight under a pull, and eventually won as he liked in the good time of Imin losee. According to the local report, Aeolus

was left five or six lengths at the start for the Wanganui Stakes, and eventually finished in third place, and a length and a quarter behind the winner. The totalisator figures showed a decrease of £1654 as compared with the autumn meeting last year. Messrs Ross and Bradslmw, Wellington, report the following business:— C..1.C. Great Easter and Aufunin—looo to 10 Foutenoy and Multifid. SOO to 12 King Billy and Seal Rock, 700 to 2 Fireiron and Lapland, 000 to V/., Balsam and Chryseis, 500 to 2 Blylhemaid and Jtlythemaid. 400 to (i Munject and Eden.
