WESTPORT NEWS
Per Press Association. Westport, March 12 So far nothing is known locally about the customary Kastcr encampment. It was understood that in deference to the wishes of the late Minister of Defence the encampment would be held this year at Christchurch. Members of the Duller district defence corps hvor the project, and consi'er that it offers a splendid opportunity to the new Defence Council to carry out a | a large, mobilisation scheme. No damage is reported from the earthquake experienced this morning. As the result of further mineral discovenes at Mt. Undent, JNorth of Westport, an additional 900 acres have been pegged off. Dr. Bell's report on his visit to the mountain last week is awaited here with much interest.
