ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
I'er Press Association Mastmiton, March 1U A man named William Bowman, single, met with a fatal accident at Mangamahoo on Saturday morning, Me was blasting a log which had fallen across a creek, when the chargo weni oft' and struck him. Ifc was taken to Mauriceville, where he died a few hours afterwards. Deceased was employed at the limekiln. Wellington, March 10 An inquest was held jestcrday concerning the death of (xustein Brook .Turner, a railway porter who was killed at the Government station on lU'iday evening by a train passing over him. The cyidcnce showed there had been some trouble between deceased and his wife. The latter arrived from Austialia last \\ ednesday, and met deceased, who told a friend lie was tornbly broken up, and in such a fix he did not know what to de. Turner's movements on Friday are not known, nor docs it seem quite clear how the | accident occurred. A verdict was rethat deceased died from injuries iiillicted by a passing train but there is no evidence to show how he came to bo in the position in which he was found. ' Wangaimi, March 10.
