The Fgrnont Licensing Coiuniiftee on Friday at Waitara. l'lesent: -Messrs W. G.'Riddell, S.M. (chairman). SLolt, Pigott, Thomson, Macdunnld, and Stubbs. The pol.ee report received was very satisfactory. Three members reported as a iv-nli. of the inspect ion of the new Waitara Hotel. It was decided to write to the owner asking that a second balcony lie constructed to run round the whole ol the building, under the bedroom windows, and the police and owner of the building were ordered to communicate with the contractor with regard to the unsatisfactory lavatory accommodation. In view of a rumored outbreak of typhoid in the district it was chadded 1o ask the Health Department to instruct their ollicere to inspect all Ihe hotels in the. district, paying particular attention lo Ihe drainage systems. A permanent, transfer of the Masonii Hotel license from ,1. A. Sinytlie to \V F. Grantham was granted.
