THE METHODIST CONFERENCE
Per Press Association. CiißisTcnuncii, March 7 At the Methodist Conference to-day, the Bev. J. N. Buttle submitted the Foreign Missbn balance-sheet, showed for New Zealand a record income of £2210 12s Id. It was resolved to request the I'rendent of the Conference to visit the leading centres with a view to the establishment of ladies' missionary auxiliaries, similar to the one in Dtinedin. reputations representing the Ministers' Association, the Biptist Union, Presbyterian Assembly, and Primitive Methodist Conference, waited upon the Conference, the Bevs. W. Hird, J. Martrn, J. Gay and T. Murray being the speakers. The Rev. B. P. Rotliwell replied on behalf of the Conference. A very stiJcessful garden party was held at Elmwood, Papanui road. In [he evening the ordination service too 1 ! place in the Syndham Church, which was crowded. The candidates were the Bevs M.. A. B. Pratt, A. J. Seamer, B, J. James, J. Wilson, and Aone Hare (Native Minister). The ex-President, the Rev. G, A. Brooie, delivered the ordination charge.
