A DISASTROUS FIRE.
SEVENTEEN TRAMCARS DESTIIOfED. Eecciycd 7, l'.lti p m. Milbouhxe, March 7 A fire at Elsmernwick destroyed tlie wliole stock of cars, seventeen, of the St. Hilda and West Brighton electric tramway, with tlie result that business on the line is suspended till new cars are built. The cause of the fire is a mystery, the electric current being cut off at the time, and ihe outbreak of fire starting in the manager's office. The damige is roughly estimated at £15,000.
